Sotirios Kotsopoulos is a researcher, designer, and educator working at the intersection of Design and Computation. He critically examines the profound impact of computational thinking on modern design theory and practice.
As a Professor at the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) and a Research Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), he pioneers the use of formal-generative methods and advanced digital means. His research explores the dynamic relationships between form, structure, representation and performance in the built environment.
A central focus of his work is fostering interdisciplinary collaboration between designers and engineers. He investigates the integration of digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) into architecture, driving innovative applications across both the building and urban scales.
